Our Building Process: 6 Steps
Every project we build, whether it's a custom home, a casita, an addition or an RV garage, follows the same six steps. One team handles all of them.

- Step 01
Property and feasibility review
We meet with you, look at the property and talk through your goals and budget. This is where we check zoning, setbacks, access and utilities. The estimate is free.
- Step 02
Design
We design the project around your lot and how you'll use it, or start from one of our plans: five casita designs and home plans from 2,000 to 7,000 sq ft.
- Step 03
Plans and engineering
We prepare the construction drawings and the structural engineering the city needs to approve the build.
- Step 04
Permitting
We pull the permits ourselves and answer the city's plan review comments.
- Step 05
Construction
We manage construction: scheduling, inspections and the trades. Site work and utility connections, including water, power and sewer or septic, are part of the build.
Foundation, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall and finishes, with city inspections at each stage. We bring in licensed trades where the job needs them and keep you updated as it moves.

Final walkthrough
After the final city inspection passes, we walk the finished project with you.
Process questions
Do you handle permits and construction management?
Yes. We pull our own permits and manage construction through the final inspection.
How will I know where my project stands?
We keep you updated through each step, from plan review to the final walkthrough.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. We look at your property, talk through your goals and give you an estimate at no cost.
Do I need my own architect or engineer?
No. We prepare the plans and the structural engineering the city needs. If you already have plans, we can build from those.
How long does each step take?
It depends on the project. Most casitas take about 7-8 months: 3-4 months for plans and permits, then about 4 months of construction. Custom homes typically need about 4 months for permits and about 6 months of construction. Most additions take 3-6 months and most RV garages 3-5 months from permit to finish. Your schedule is set during planning.
Do you check HOA rules?
Yes. We check zoning, setbacks and HOA rules during the property review, before design starts.
